Sports podotherapy

Every athlete wants to train and compete without complaints, whether you are an amateur or a professional.

Sports podotherapy Rotterdam

Preventing and healing injuries

When you play sport you are moving even more intensively, and that places higher demands on how much load your body can take. Sooner or later, many athletes have to deal with injuries or with overload complaints in the feet, legs and/or back.

An injury can be caused by several factors. Footwear, the surface and the amount of load are all very important. What is often forgotten, however, is the way you move. How do your foot, leg and trunk move? The position of your feet and legs can be highly significant here.

Athletes of every level with complaints are welcome at our practice, as are those seeking advice on injury prevention or improving sporting performance.

Collaboration with SMC Sparta Rotterdam

Sport Medisch Centrum Sparta Rotterdam

Since 2020 we have worked closely with SMC Sparta Rotterdam. At "het Kasteel" we see all kinds of sports besides football, from amateurs to professionals. We work closely with sports physicians and sports physiotherapists. This allows for an even more complete treatment of sport-related complaints. We hold a clinic there on Mondays.

Experience across many sports

Podotherapie Rotterdam has years of experience treating athletes from a wide range of disciplines: alongside football and running, we also see sports such as hockey, tennis, athletics, basketball, skiing and speed skating. Every sport places unique demands on the feet. A runner needs a different correction than a speed skater. That is why we make sports insoles tailored specifically to your sport, your footwear and your complaints.

The sports podotherapeutic examination includes an extensive analysis of sport-specific movements. Where in footballers we look at stability during changes of direction and shooting movements, in basketball the jumps matter alongside stability during changes of direction. Based on this specific examination, we manufacture thin, lightweight sports insoles that fit optimally in your sports shoes without disturbing your feel for the ball.

In addition to insoles, we use (medical) taping, manual and fascia therapy to treat sports injuries quickly and effectively. Whether it concerns shin splints, heel spur, Achilles tendon complaints, ankle injuries or forefoot pain, we help you get back on the pitch, the track or the ice.

Podotherapy for dancers in Rotterdam

Podotherapy for (pre)professional dancers

Dancers train a great deal and often at the limits of their capacity, which makes the risk of injury considerable. Small imperfections in position, posture or movement can affect dance technique, and with that the development of injuries.

Podotherapie Rotterdam specialises in examining and treating (pre)professional dancers with complaints in the feet, legs, ankles, knees, hips and back, and can also help with prevention.
